While the dream of a commuter rail in the near future ended with the shut down of the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SERTA) which was ordered to disband September 28, 2011. We have to show the state government that Wisconsinites want to create a better state for our children and bring jobs and businesses back to Wisconsin. To do just that, we need to do what is listed below, and much more. First though we need active members looking to step forward and take leadership in the plan.
- Officially create the Lakeshore Commuter Rail Commission
- Create a planning group and re-connect with the past members of the SERTA
- Begin community events to regain awareness, and begin fundraising.
- Continue the planning process that was put in place by SERTA and the original KRM Commuter Rail Plan.
